Dolly Parton’s rise from humble beginnings in rural Tennessee to become one of the world’s most successful and well-known entertainers has created a modern-day rags-to-riches tale.

Parton, who is 67 years old, has become an icon due to her more than 3000 songs that she has written and performed, as well as her down-to-earth and kind nature, which has earned her public trust.

Dolly Parton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022 to recognize her significant musical achievements. Despite this, numerous rumors and conjectures about Dolly Parton’s health and personal life have circulated.

Parton is said to have had an esophagectomy surgery to remove a portion of her esophagus due to complications from pre-existing conditions and a separate procedure to remove kidney stones.

This news has caused some concern among fans, but it hasn’t stopped Dolly from continuing her charitable work or producing hit songs that have consistently topped the charts throughout her career. Her admirable strength and resilience demonstrate how iconic she truly is.

Social media platforms have recently been inundated with false reports and claims of Dolly Parton suffering from a “dangerous illness” in the fall of 2022, even claiming she was placed on life support.

Snopes, a website dedicated to fact-checking, investigated and discovered that these allegations were based on a dubious YouTube video. Despite her age of 76, Parton has recently made several appearances and concerts, demonstrating her excellent health.

Parton underwent surgery to remove kidney stones in late September 2015 at 69. The procedure went smoothly, and her medical problem was resolved quickly.

In response to rumors that she had stomach cancer, Dolly issued a statement thanking fans for their love and concern while also clarifying that she only had kidney stones that had been treated:

“Yes, I did have kidney stones. I’m doing great three weeks after they were removed! The assertion that I have stomach cancer is entirely false. I adore and appreciate everyone’s concern.”

With the latest social media reports raising concerns about celebrity icon Dolly Parton’s health in 2022, Snopes wasted no time conducting extensive research to disprove these rumors.

Parton’s recent appearances and performances show that, despite being 76 years old, she is as healthy and strong as she has been since overcoming her kidney stone operation in 2015 at 69.

She took to social media to thank everyone for their concern while stating unequivocally that the reports about her illness were false.

Dolly Parton had gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) for several years, which caused stomach acid to be pushed into her esophagus regularly.

Parton was compelled to take drastic action, which resulted in her undergoing a secret esophagectomy – the surgical removal of all or part of the esophagus – in June 2013.

A sophisticated medical device was implanted into her esophagus during this procedure as a preventative measure against the development of esophageal cancer.

Parton’s health suffered from her GERD and subsequent surgery; she could only eat soft, bland foods and lost a significant amount of weight due to the medication.

While Parton’s team chose not to comment on the matter, an anonymous source spoke out about her condition: “It was evident that if something wasn’t done soon, it could have taken its toll on Dolly’s life. She was taking antacids to alleviate her symptoms.”

At age 35, Parton was diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition in which endometrial tissue grows outside of the uterus, causing inflammation and pain in other parts of the body.

She had been experiencing severe abdominal aches and abnormal bleeding for some time before becoming aware of what was wrong medically. Her doctors then recommended a partial hysterectomy as part of her endometriosis treatment.

Parton had two surgical procedures to address the internal bleeding she was experiencing, and at the age 36, she needed a partial hysterectomy to treat the condition.

She was unable to conceive naturally as a result of this procedure. The event left her emotionally and physically exhausted; she began neglecting her health, focusing solely on her profession while ignoring any personal issues she was dealing with.

Parton stated that stomach issues, feminine issues, and overall poor health caused the breakdown. She was not taking any steps to improve her health, such as exercising, eating correctly, or attending doctor’s appointments regularly.

Parton, in retrospect, had pushed herself too far and needed time away to recover from her numerous ailments. Unfortunately, the only way she could heal adequately was to have extensive medical surgery.
