General Hospital star Kirsten Storms’ ex-husband, Brandon Barash, has been granted a restraining order amid concerns about her mental health, according to TMZ.
Barash, 46, recently filed for an emergency order, which was approved after he alleged that Storms, 42, has been exhibiting troubling behavior and that he fears for the safety and well-being of their 12-year-old daughter.

In court filings, Barash — who was married to Storms from 2013 to 2016 — said his concerns escalated after the former couple relocated separately to Tennessee following their divorce. He claimed Storms has struggled with housing instability, noting that her landlord once filed for eviction and that similar issues have become a recurring pattern.
Barash also alleged that he previously loaned Storms $5,000 to help prevent her car from being repossessed, adding that the money has not been repaid. He stated in the filing that a series of incidents have caused him “great concern” about her ability to care for their child.
He further described an alleged incident in May 2025, claiming Storms contacted him while “experiencing delusions and hallucinations” and said she did not feel capable of having their daughter during her scheduled parenting time.

Barash said his current wife, Isabella Devoto, helped Storms get to a hospital, where she was reportedly placed on a psychiatric hold. He also claimed that later that year, Storms contacted him again, alleging that people were breaking into her apartment and moving her belongings in an effort to “mess with her.”
In addition, Barash alleged that a friend of Storms told him she may be misusing Adderall and possibly other substances. He further claimed she has experienced repeated episodes involving emotional distress and hearing voices.
Kirsten Storms is best known for her role as Maxie Jones on General Hospital, a character she has played on and off since 2005. Over the years, she has remained a fan favorite for her portrayal of Maxie, balancing dramatic storylines with humor and heart. Before joining the long-running ABC soap, she rose to fame on Disney Channel, starring as Zenon Kar in the Zenon film series and appearing on Days of Our Lives as Belle Black.
In July 2025, Storms revealed she was taking a leave of absence from General Hospital to undergo brain surgery.
“In January (2025), I had a new scan done of my brain,” she posted to her Instagram in October 2025 per US Weekly. “After my surgery in 2021, my amazing neurosurgeon … has been monitoring the cyst that he left on my brain, when he removed one that was causing me problems.”
Kirsten Storms said doctors discovered an aneurysm on the right side of her brain after performing a procedure in which a camera was guided from her leg to her brain. Following the diagnosis, she recognized the need to make major lifestyle changes to reduce stress and improve her health.
Storms explained that leaving Los Angeles was a key decision, driven largely by her desire to prioritize her daughter Harper, as well as her own physical and mental well-being and overall happiness.
Despite returning to General Hospital in a February episode in which her character awoke from a coma, Kirsten Storms has only made limited appearances since. She appeared in just a handful of episodes following that storyline, with her most recent airing in March.
